Doctor Portal guide
Last updated: 6 August 2026
The DiabetesLife Doctor Portal lets you follow your patients' diabetes between visits — their glucose, labs, medications and activity, all logged in the DiabetesLife app. This guide covers how to get started and what each part of the portal does. Questions? Email support@diabeteslifeapp.com.
1. Sign in and set up your profile
Go to doctor.diabeteslifeapp.com and sign in with your email. We send a one-time 6-digit code — enter it to sign in; there's no password. On first sign-in, complete your profile (name, specialization, clinic and time zone). Your first 30 days are free with no card required.
2. Connect your patients
Patients connect to you — you don't add them here. Give each patient the email address you use on the portal, and ask them to:
- Open the DiabetesLife app.
- Go to Settings → Doctor.
- Enter your email and tap Link Doctor.
As soon as a patient links you, they appear on your dashboard automatically — no action needed on your side. A patient can unlink at any time, which stops sharing their future data.
3. Read the dashboard
The dashboard opens on your patient roster. The stat cards at the top summarise your panel at a glance — total patients, who needs attention, poor control (HbA1c > 8%), recent hypo events, patients with no logs in 7 days, and overdue reviews.
The table below triages each patient, surfacing their latest HbA1c, time-in-range, recent lows, last activity and any flags — so the patients who need you rise to the top.
4. Review a patient
Click any patient to open their detail view: their glucose and lab trends over time (with normal-range bands), medications, logged meals and activity, low blood sugar episodes, and a clinical summary you can export. This is where you get the full picture before or during a consult.
5. Propose medication changes
You can propose changes to a patient's regimen from their record. The change is sent as a request — the patient reviews and confirms it in the appbefore it takes effect, so the medication record always reflects what they've actually agreed to. Pending requests are flagged on the roster.
6. Alerts
The Alertsbell (🔔) in the header collects time-sensitive events across your panel — severe or unresolved lows, patients going quiet, and overdue reviews — so you don't have to scan the whole roster to catch what's urgent. The badge shows how many are unread.
7. Billing
Your first 30 days are free. To keep uninterrupted access after the trial, subscribe from the plan / billing page. If your clinic is on the Clinic plan, every patient you link gets all Pro features in the app unlocked for free while they stay connected to you.
